Speaker's Biography

Sir David Lewis gave a fascinating account of his year as Lord Mayor of London. Sir David also talked about the need to observe high levels of morality and integrity in our business dealings, reminding us of the days when “my word is my bond”.

Sir David became the 680th Lord Mayor of London in 2007 and is only the eighth Welsh person to have held that role. He is a consultant with the international law firm, Norton Rose, having retired as Senior Partner in 2003.

He is an alumnus and Hon Fellow of Jesus College Oxford, Chairman of the Governors of the Dragon School and an Almoner of Christ's Hospital. He is a trustee of a number of charities and a Liveryman of the Solicitors' Company, the Fletchers Company and the Welsh Livery Guild.
